Clare Mac Cumhaill and Rachael Wiseman are each developing an Impact Case Study for REF2029 based on their work on the Quartet and In Parenthesis more broadly.
For those outside the UK University context, REF (Research Excellence Framework) is the mechanism through which the UK government evaluates research in public universities. Impact Case Studies form part of that evaluation. These are evidence-based narratives which demonstrate where research has had an effect on the economy, society, culture, public policy or services, health, the environment or quality of life, beyond academia.
Impact includes, but is not limited to, an effect on, change or benefit to: the activity, attitude, awareness, behaviour, capacity, opportunity, performance, policy, practice, process or understanding of an audience, beneficiary, community, constituency, organisation or individuals in any geographic location whether locally, regionally, nationally or internationally.
We would be extremely grateful if you could help us by describing how you have been using, or intend to use, the work of In Parenthesis (at any time since 2015), or by providing evidence and testimony of the impact of Metaphysical Animals, our resources, events or other publications.
We would also be very glad to hear from you if you have ideas about how we can develop impact further.
